The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has sanctioned Rs 57 crore for constructing the Singtali bridge aimed at connecting the Garhwal and Kumaon regions. According to an official release, the bridge, proposed over the Ganga river in Kaudiala-Vyasghat Motorway, will span 150 meters, boosting regional connectivity.

The Chief Minister previously pushed for financial and infrastructural backing for this project in the Yamkeshwar Assembly constituency of the Pauri district. On Tuesday, the Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) officially approved the orders, clearing all obstructions and paving the way for immediate construction initiation.

In a separate initiative on August 17, Chief Minister Dhami oversaw the transfer of Rs 24.85 crore to workers and their families under various welfare programs through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This followed the swift processing of 8,299 applications by the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board in a recent campaign. Secretary Labour Sridhar Babu Addanki and Labour Commissioner Prakash Chandra Dumka commended the efficiency of this first-time effort by the board.
