Crompton Greaves Secures Green Energy Contract Under PM-KUSUM Scheme

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., a leader in India's pumps sector, has secured a significant contract under the PM-KUSUM B scheme. The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. has approved Crompton Greaves for the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of 1,884 solar photovoltaic water pumping systems.

This endeavor, valued at Rs. 49 crore, will provide farmers with reliable, efficient, and easy-to-maintain irrigation solutions. The end-to-end project scope includes a five-year warranty, maintenance services, and advanced Remote Monitoring Systems for each installation to ensure dependable performance in rural and off-grid areas.

As over 60% of India's population relies on agriculture, reliable irrigation is crucial. The government is promoting schemes like PM-KUSUM to support solar water pumps, addressing erratic electricity and water scarcity challenges. Crompton aims to provide performance-driven, future-ready solutions while advancing renewable energy goals and supporting farming communities.
