In a significant development, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following the Centre's approval of the Rs 8,307.74 crore Bhubaneswar six-lane Capital Region Ring Road project. This strategic infrastructure endeavor promises to mark a 'big step' towards the advancement of Odisha and India, according to the BJP leader.

Pradhan expressed appreciation on behalf of Odisha's 4.5 crore residents, describing the six-lane, 111 km superhighway as a landmark initiative that will propel the region towards development. He attributed previous delays to the Odisha government's non-cooperation and credited the current BJP-led state administration for accelerating the project's progress.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, greenlit the construction on a Hybrid Annuity Mode. The new highway will address congestion issues by diverting traffic around urban centers like Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Integrating with major highways and nodes, the project aims to boost freight efficiency and socio-economic growth, creating close to 74.43 lakh days of direct and 93.04 lakh days of indirect employment opportunities.
