Punjab Transport Minister S Laljit Singh Bhullar convened a detailed meeting on Tuesday with officials from the Punjab Roadways/PUNBUS/PRTC Contract Workers Union and the Punjab Roadways (PUNBUS) State Transport Workers Union to address their demands. The dialogue featured union leaders such as State President Resham Singh Gill, State General Secretary Shamsher Singh Dhillon, and Senior Vice President Jaspal Singh Bajwa.
Accompanied by key officials including Secretary Transport Varun Roojam and Managing Director PRTC B.S. Shergill, Minister Bhullar briefed the unions on existing measures and instructed departmental officers to draft a comprehensive proposal for discussions with finance and personnel departments. Bhullar reassured swift redressal of all legitimate demands while ensuring compliance with necessary legal protocols.
Meanwhile, in a parallel development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored continuous enhancements in transportation infrastructure nationwide. On social media, PM Modi announced the inauguration of two significant highway projects in Delhi, signaling a further boost to the capital's connectivity, with projects valued at an approximate Rs 11,000 crore.
