Oil Flow to Slovakia Restored Amidst Ukrainian Strikes

Oil supplies to Slovakia resumed through the Druzhba pipeline following a Ukrainian drone strike on a Russian pumping station, which had disrupted deliveries. This comes amidst Ukraine's increased attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure. Slovakia, unlike other EU nations, remains reliant on Russian energy.

Oil is once again reaching Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline, confirmed the Slovak economy ministry late Tuesday. This resurgence follows disruption caused by a Ukrainian drone attack on a Russian pumping station in the Tambov region.

Ukraine has increased its offensives on Russia's energy infrastructure, a crucial revenue channel for the Kremlin's military activities. Oil and gas sales form a significant portion of Russia's state budget. Despite a general EU distancing from Russian energy, Slovakia, along with Hungary, still heavily relies on Russian supplies, notably through the Druzhba pipeline.

Economy Minister Denisa Sakova announced, "The oil flow to Slovakia is currently standard." While future supply schedule adjustments remain uncertain, she expressed confidence that any impact will be minimal, thanks to the quick restoration of pipeline operations. It's still unclear whether Hungary's supply was also restored.
