Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Wednesday the state's decision to transfer the Bhiwani teacher murder investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This development follows growing demands for justice from the family of the victim, Manisha, and ongoing protests in her village.
The Chief Minister expressed on social media that the state government, along with the police, is committed to ensuring justice for Manisha, emphasizing transparency in the case proceedings. "We are working diligently, and I am personally overseeing the developments," he added.
The decision comes in wake of protests led by local leaders urging for a CBI inquiry and a third autopsy at AIIMS Delhi. The Haryana Home Secretary ordered a suspension of mobile internet and certain services in Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri to curb misinformation and prevent disruption of peace in the area.
