The Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is set to launch a vigorous campaign starting September 16, aimed at achieving complete farmer registration across the state. With instructions from the Chief Minister, district magistrates will be tasked with daily progress reviews in anticipation of the campaign's success. The Revenue Department has been ordered to issue comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) to aid revenue officers in updating land ownership records consistent with Aadhaar details.

As of now, over 1.45 crore farmers are registered, surpassing the halfway mark of the ambitious 2.88 crore target. Districts like Bijnor, Hardoi, and Shravasti have taken the lead with registration rates above 56%. In certain areas, such as Amroha and Balrampur, officials have completed verification processes. The administration has underscored that full registration is pivotal before distributing the next installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana benefits. Districts lagging in progress are urged to intensify Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) efforts.

Meanwhile, the government assured there is no fertiliser shortage statewide, countering hoarding fears. Detailed sales and stock data reveal a significant increase in fertiliser distribution, as shared by the Agriculture Department. CM Adityanath has cautioned against black marketing, insisting on standard pricing and committing to the efficient resolution of any farmer complaints, with detailed directives given to district officials to uphold transparency and communication channels.
