Empowering Women: Shakti Samvad Initiative for SWCs

The National Commission for Women (NCW), in partnership with the Maharashtra State Women Commission, is set to launch a significant two-day 'Capacity Building and Training Programme' for state women commissions (SWCs), an official declared. The initiative begins on Friday.
At a press briefing, NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar announced that the programme, named 'Shakti Samvad', will unite SWC leaders and officials from across India. The focus is on fortifying their ability to protect women's rights, ensuring welfare, and promoting gender equality. Discussions will cover issues from cybercrimes to mental well-being and policy gaps, aiming to enhance SWCs' strategies and knowledge.
The event, inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, will feature a book launch on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) at the Workplace, panel discussions on technology's impact on women, and legal framework orientations. Concluding with a strategy session, the program seeks to boost collaboration between SWCs and the NCW in empowering women nationwide.
