The Delhi High Court has temporarily shielded Vicky Ramancha from arrest as he faces accusations of orchestrating an elaborate scheme that supplied counterfeit drugs worth USD 18.8 million to a company. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna ordered no coercive action be taken until the next court hearing.
Ramancha is implicated in distributing fake drugs, particularly 'Ozempic,' to foreign entities, with the U.S. FDA seizing the spurious medications. His anticipatory bail application was rejected by the Patiala House court, citing the serious nature of the allegations which pose significant public health risks.
Despite the lower court's decision, the High Court has instructed Ramancha to participate in the investigation and submit a status report within four weeks. The matter is scheduled for a hearing on September 22, with legal representation led by senior advocate Manu Sharma.
