Market Jitters Ahead of Fed Conference
Wall Street's key indexes dropped as investors remained wary before the Federal Reserve's Jackson Hole conference. The Dow Jones, S&P 500, and Nasdaq Composite all opened lower, reflecting a cautious market sentiment. Walmart's quarterly results were insufficient to boost investor confidence.

Wall Street's primary indexes experienced a downturn on Thursday, underscoring investor apprehension preceding the Federal Reserve's imminent three-day conference in Jackson Hole.
Despite Walmart disclosing its quarterly earnings, the results did little to invigorate market sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average commenced its session with a 130.1-point dip, equivalent to 0.29%, landing at 44,808.21.
Meanwhile, the S&P 500 opened with a 14.9-point drop, marking a 0.23% decrease to 6,380.83. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite also faced a decline of 60.3 points, or 0.28%, opening at 21,112.523.
