In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police detained a friend of Rajesh Khimji, who is accused of attacking Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The detention comes amid allegations that the friend transferred money to Khimji. Police sources revealed that they are currently monitoring ten individuals who communicated with the accused via calls and messages.

Efforts are underway as a Delhi police team in Rajkot has been tasked with recording statements from five individuals linked to the case through the accused's mobile data. Rajesh Khimji, accused of attacking CM Rekha Gupta at her residence during a public hearing, has been placed in five-day police custody whilst investigations proceed.

In response to the attack, CM Rekha Gupta emphasized her resilience and dedication to public service. She reassured constituents through social media that she would persevere in her duties. Meanwhile, security around Gupta has been tightened, with the addition of CRPF personnel to her protection detail. Agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau, are collaborating on the investigation as authorities pursue all angles.
