A suspect sustained injuries in Ghaziabad after being shot by police in a retaliatory exchange. The incident occurred during a routine checkpost operation on Thursday night, as per ADCP Abhishek Srivastava. The police tried to stop a man on a motorbike, but he attempted to flee, firing at the officers in the process.

The police responded with gunfire, resulting in the suspect's injury. He is now recovering in a hospital. Preliminary investigations reveal the man had past run-ins with the law over theft and snatching. A stolen motorcycle and an illegal weapon were recovered from the scene, authorities confirmed.

Meanwhile, in a joint operation with the SWAT team, another encounter in Fatehpur led to the arrest of Deepak alias Pradeep, a murder suspect with a Rs 25,000 bounty. SWAT and local police exchanged fire with the suspect, who was subsequently injured and apprehended with weapons in his possession. Further investigations are ongoing.
