On the sixth day of the 'Voter Adhikaar Yatra,' Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi arrived in Jamalpur to tackle concerns over alleged voter fraud. The campaign, which brings electoral transparency to the forefront, is raising issues about supposed inaction by the Election Commission.
CPI(ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya emphasized that voter fraud is a pressing issue with 65 lakh votes already excluded. The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process is criticized for reducing voter numbers. Uday Bhanu Chib of the Indian Youth Congress accused the BJP of masking fraudulent voter tactics, claiming opponents are jailed unjustly.
The 16-day awareness campaign spans 1,300 km across Bihar, aiming to expose irregularities in voter lists described as 'vote chori' or vote theft. With support from the Rashtriya Janata Dal and CPI(ML), the yatra highlights opposition concerns over disenfranchisement as it pushes towards concluding in Patna on September 1.
