Saurabh Bharadwaj, Delhi president of the Aam Aadmi Party, alleged on Thursday that the Delhi Police are deliberately withholding CCTV footage of an attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to obscure their own operational lapses. Despite an FIR being filed, Bharadwaj expressed skepticism about the transparency of police actions.

Bharadwaj, while discussing past attacks on AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, criticized the police's handling. He argued it was their responsibility to file 'attempt to murder' cases for such incidents and take suspects into custody, a protocol seemingly followed inconsistently, as the Kejriwal cases allegedly remained weak with persistent claims of public discontent.

Bharadwaj noted the lack of public access to the CCTV footage of Rekha Gupta's attack, contrasting it with the recorded and broadcasted incidents involving Kejriwal. The attack on Gupta occurred during a public hearing at her home, involving assailant Rajesh Khimji, who was promptly detained and placed into police custody.
