Parliament Security Foils Intruder Attempt Amid Echoes of 2001 Attack

Security forces thwarted an intrusion attempt at Parliament when a man scaled walls into the complex, evoking memories of the 2001 terror attack. The intruder was apprehended by CISF personnel. The incident comes as another security breach occurred during the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 attack.

A prompt response by security personnel prevented a breach of Parliament's confines when they apprehended a man attempting to enter the complex by climbing a tree and scaling the wall, according to Parliament security sources.

The intruder was captured by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel after he jumped the wall between TKR 2 - North Utility of the Parliament gate. He was immediately taken for questioning.

This latest incident occurred as memories of the December 13, 2001, terrorist attack on the old Parliament building linger. During the 22nd anniversary of the attack, two individuals created a security scare by leaping into the Lok Sabha chamber and releasing yellow gas canisters. Security forces detained six people linked to the suspect activities.
