On Friday, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) introduced 143 state-of-the-art buses in a move to revamp its services and elevate commuter experiences. The newly unveiled fleet is equipped with advanced technology and comfort amenities, aimed at boosting both inter-state and long-distance travel services.
Addressing the launch, Kerala Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar articulated the plan's broader scope, which includes ongoing highway constructions and the introduction of direct routes connecting Trivandrum with major cities like Cochin, Kozhikode, and Thrissur. The minister emphasized the commitment to delivering a world-class travel experience and noted the buses' role in KSRTC's modernization and digitalization drive.
As part of this digital transformation, Kerala has rolled out an AI-supported operational software and mobile applications for driving tests and private bus concessions, reflecting broader state policies. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently announced Kerala's distinction as India's first fully digitally literate state, a testament to the region's pioneering efforts in integrating technology into public services.
