In a calculated move to avert civilian casualties, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan announced that Indian forces executed a precise strike on terrorist targets in the early hours of May 7. Conducted during the darkest hour between 1:00 and 1:30 AM, Operation Sindoor was designed to impede satellite imaging while ensuring accurate targeting.

Speaking to students at Jharkhand Raj Bhavan's Birsa Mandap, General Chauhan explained the rationale behind the operation's timing, highlighting confidence in military capabilities even in challenging conditions. He stressed the importance of avoiding civilian presence, especially during peak morning hours when civilian activity could increase the risk of collateral damage.

In a motivational address, General Chauhan discussed his personal journey into the Army without nepotism, urging students to consider a career in the armed forces for its adventurous lifestyle. He lauded the synergy between the Army, Navy, and Air Force, which together safeguard the nation and provide aid during natural calamities. The session emphasized service to the country as a pathway to understanding its diversity and playing a role in global peacekeeping.
