Orb Energy has teamed up with Mabati Rolling Mills, part of the Safal Group, to speed up Kenya's transition to greener energy through solar power, announced the company on Friday.
The partnership emphasizes the crucial role solar energy plays in helping energy-heavy industries lower their carbon footprint and maintain competitive energy costs, said Damian Miller, CEO of Orb Energy.
Orb Energy has installed a 2.9 MW rooftop solar system on Mabati Rolling Mills' Mariakani facility, one of the largest in Kenya. This installation will produce around 4,200 MWh of clean electricity yearly, marking a significant milestone for Orb Energy and the green transition in Africa's industrial sector.
