Uttarakhand Honours Heroes: A Vision for State's Future

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid floral tributes to deceased statehood activists at Shaheed Sthal, Rampur Tiraha, highlighting its historical significance. The ceremony commemorated those who sacrificed their lives during the Uttarakhand statehood movement.

During the event, Chief Minister Dhami unveiled plans for the revitalization of Rampur Tiraha Shaheed Sthal, including museum enhancements and infrastructure improvements such as a canteen and a bus stoppage point. Reflecting on the Rampur Tiraha firing incident of October 2, 1994, the Chief Minister described it as a harrowing chapter in the state's history.

Dhami emphasized the state's initiatives to honor statehood activists, including job reservations and pensions. He acknowledged the pivotal role of women in the movement and stressed the importance of safeguarding the region's cultural legacy through measures like the Uniform Civil Code, strict anti-conversion laws, and land preservation efforts.
