Tragedy Strikes: School Collapse in Indonesia
A building collapse at the Al Khoziny Islamic school in East Java, Indonesia, has claimed 13 lives, with rescuers continuing their search for 50 missing students. The disaster occurred during an afternoon prayer session amid ongoing construction. Heavy machinery is now being utilized with families' consent.

The death toll from the collapse of an Islamic school building in Indonesia rose to 13, with the search for survivors still underway, according to the country's disaster mitigation agency late Friday.
On Monday, the Al Khoziny school in Sidoarjo, East Java, crumbled during afternoon prayers, unable to sustain concurrent construction on its upper levels and trapping hundreds of students. Rescuers, with 30 ambulances at the ready, continue searching for 50 more missing teens, mainly boys aged 13 to 19.
After consulting with grieving parents, rescuers received approval to use heavy machinery, having found no signs of life in earlier efforts, and hoping to uncover any remaining victims. Alongside the ambulances, cranes helped remove debris, though no signs of life were detected.
