In the wake of a devastating fire at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Hospital, grieving relatives of the victims have staged a protest, accusing hospital staff and the State government of gross negligence. Outcries were heard as six patients tragically lost their lives, prompting demands for accountability and justice.

Protesters alleged that warnings about a short circuit in the ICU went unheeded by staff, leading to the catastrophic incident. "We informed the hospital about the electrical issue, but no action was taken. Now, families are mourning because of their negligence," a protester told ANI.

Survivors and relatives shared harrowing accounts of smoke filling the ward, with safety measures falling short during the crisis. Puran Singh, a relative, recounted the chaos as smoke spread rapidly, forcing some people to flee, leaving patients behind in anguished turmoil.

Claims of insufficient fire control equipment have exacerbated the turmoil. Narendra Singh commented, "There was no equipment to combat the fire. My mother was there, and we had no idea of the threat."

Rajasthan's government has responded by forming a six-member committee to investigate the incident, attributed initially to a short circuit. Spearheaded by Iqbal Khan, Commissioner of the Medical Department, the inquiry includes top officials and engineers tasked with uncovering the causes behind this tragic fire.
