State-owned SAIL has successfully supplied the full requirement of special grade steel for the commissioning of the Indian Navy's vessel, Androth. This contribution was vital in enhancing the Navy's Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), which was officially commissioned at a ceremony held at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The induction of the Androth is set to significantly boost the Navy's capabilities in Anti-Submarine Warfare, particularly for operations conducted in coastal and shallow waters. This marks a considerable advancement in India's naval prowess, leveraging domestically produced materials.
