The Indian Coast Guard spearheaded the 10th National Level Pollution Response Exercise, NATPOLREX-X, alongside the 27th National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan (NOSDCP) & Preparedness Meeting off Chennai's coast on October 5-6, 2025. This key event strengthens India's capabilities to tackle oil spills under the NOSDCP framework.

With oversight from Director General Paramesh Sivamani, the exercise evaluated operational readiness and coordinated efforts among numerous stakeholders, including central ministries, state governments, and maritime organizations. It drew international attention with 40 foreign observers and over 105 national delegates contributing to the 27th NOSDCP meeting.

NATPOLREX-X featured presentations on Nurdle Spills, Hazardous Substances, and other relevant issues, fostering discussion among scientists and experts. The exercise displayed extensive ICG capabilities and introduced the first shoreline cleanup drill at Marina Beach, establishing the efficiency of India's pollution response strategy.
