Tamil Nadu Minister Duraimurugan has openly criticized Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay for not personally visiting the homes of families affected by the deadly Karur stampede. Duraimurugan insinuated that the actor-turned-politician is avoiding direct interaction due to guilt.

Instead of making in-person visits, Vijay has opted to communicate through video calls, a move that Duraimurugan suggests indicates a troubled conscience. TVK members, who visited the affected families, enabled a video connection allowing Vijay to express condolences remotely.

The tragic stampede on September 27, which resulted in 41 deaths, coincided with a massive rally led by Vijay. Amidst ongoing investigations, TVK has approached the Supreme Court, challenging a Madras High Court order establishing a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and seeking a separate inquiry under a former top-court judge.
