In a spirited show of unity and awareness, citizens in Agartala, Tripura, gathered on Monday to commemorate International Disaster Management Day, observed globally on October 13.
The rally aimed to boost preparedness in areas vulnerable to natural disasters, with West Tripura DM Vishal Kumar emphasizing the critical need for readiness.
'Our objective is clear: prepare to minimize losses in any disaster,' Kumar stated, highlighting the week's activities dedicated to strengthening disaster management capabilities.
This year's theme, 'Fund Resilience, Not Disaster,' underscores an urgent call to prioritize resources toward resilience-building efforts. The program, supported by state and local authorities, seeks to bolster both individual and community capacities.
Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced agricultural initiatives by PM Modi to promote sustainability, further aiding disaster resilience in selected districts.
