HDFC Life Insurance announced on Tuesday the reappointment of Vibha Padalkar as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for another five-year term. The decision, influenced by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee's recommendation, received the board's nod at its recent meeting.
The extension, effective from September 12, 2026, is contingent upon approvals from both the shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India. This news was detailed in the company's regulatory filing.
Padalkar, who has been with HDFC Life since 2008, has played crucial roles in shaping the company's financial strategies. She was instrumental during HDFC Life's landmark IPO in 2017 and took over as MD and CEO in 2018, following Amitabh Chaudhry's transition to Axis Bank.
