Russian billionaires have brushed off the impacts of Western sanctions and the ongoing war in Ukraine, amassing a collective fortune that has soared to an all-time high of $696.5 billion this year, as reported by Forbes Russia.
Key figures leading this wealth surge include Alexei Mordashov, the general director of investment firm Severgroup. Mordashov tops the list with $37 billion, marking an $8.4 billion increase from last year.
Following closely are Vladimir Potanin and Vagit Alekperov, who boast fortunes of $29.7 billion and $29.5 billion, respectively. Despite their impressive wealth, these figures still fall short of the likes of Elon Musk, who leads the global Forbes rich list with $839 billion.
