Exploring History: PM Modi Invites Citizens to Discover India's Rich Past

In a recent address on his Mann ki Baat program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraged citizens to delve into India's rich historical records through the 'Abhilekh Patal' portal. The platform, curated by the National Archives of India, features more than 200 million digitized documents, including ancient texts, letters related to Rani Lakshmibai, and significant manuscripts like the seventh-century Gilgit scripts.

Highlighting the portal's vast collection, Modi noted that it offers a glimpse into the lives of India's historical figures, such as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, with documents about the Azad Hind Fauj and other key patriots. Additionally, the archives include papers from Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya's work on founding the Banaras Hindu University.

Modi also paid homage to Rabindranath Tagore ahead of his birth anniversary, emphasizing the global influence of his Rabindra Sangeet and contributions to India's culture and education. Reflecting on May's historical significance, the Prime Minister saluted the patriots of the 1857 First War of Independence, highlighting their pivotal role in fostering India's spirit of nationalism.
