Tensions Rise: Drone Attack Hits Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

An employee working at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was killed following a drone strike by Ukrainian forces, according to the Russian-installed management of the plant.

The incident occurred when a drone hit the transport department of the facility, leading to the death of a driver. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has announced that its team on-site will investigate the occurrence and maintain oversight of the ongoing situation.

IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi has stressed that any strikes near nuclear power sites pose significant nuclear safety threats and should be strictly avoided, according to a social media post by the Vienna-based organization.
