BJP and TMC Clash Amid Unprecedented Voter Turnout in West Bengal

The dramatic political landscape in West Bengal witnessed a crucial electoral battle as BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul praised the voters for their resilience in a challenging atmosphere marked by fear and threats. Simultaneously, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee raised objections against the BJP, alleging biased exit poll results being circulated from the BJP's headquarters.

Highlighting confidence in her party, Banerjee proclaimed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) would win decisively in 2026. A video message by the CM lauded the voters' overwhelming participation, reaching 92.67% across both polling phases. As TMC banks on its welfare schemes, the BJP focuses its campaign rhetoric on corruption and law-and-order issues. The crucial election results for West Bengal, alongside those for Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, shall be declared on May 4.
