India Ensures Safety of Seafarers and LPG Supply Amid West Asia Tensions

In the face of mounting tensions in West Asia, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has outlined a series of initiatives to safeguard Indian maritime interests. Ensuring the security of vessels and crew is paramount, with continued collaboration between relevant governmental agencies to guarantee the welfare of those at sea.

Reports indicate all Indian seafarers in the affected region remain unscathed, with no incidents involving Indian ships in the last day. The Directorate General of Shipping has facilitated the repatriation of 2,857 Indian seafarers, including 28 in the past day, showcasing a robust response to the ongoing situation.

A sharp focus remains on LPG supply amidst the geopolitical landscape, with enforcement actions against hoarding ramping up across the nation. Public sector oil companies have undertaken over 2,300 raids, leading to penalties and suspensions, while ensuring domestic households continue to receive prioritized supplies.
