Record High LPG Prices: Impact of Global Energy Turmoil
The price of commercial LPG has been hiked by a record Rs 993, marking the third consecutive monthly increase due to rising global energy prices affected by the West Asia conflict. The current price for a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi is Rs 3,071.5. Domestic LPG rates, however, remain unchanged.
Commercial LPG prices have witnessed a historic surge, rising by Rs 993 per 19-kg cylinder due to escalating global energy prices, exacerbated by the ongoing West Asia conflict. This marks the third monthly increase.
In Delhi, the current price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder stands at a record high of Rs 3,071.5. This follows previous hikes of Rs 195.50 and Rs 114.5 earlier this year, accumulating a total increase of Rs 1,303 over three adjustments.
Meanwhile, domestic LPG rates have remained unchanged since the last Rs 60 hike in March. The state-owned fuel companies adjust prices in accordance with international benchmarks and currency exchange rates as global oil prices rise nearly 50% due to disrupted supply chains.
