In a statement addressing recent commercial LPG cylinder price hikes, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Suresh Gopi, defended the substantial increase. He emphasized that global energy prices need to be considered, given the current geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
The price for a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was raised by Rs 993, marking the third consecutive monthly increase. This price adjustment is attributed to the escalating costs of global energy resources linked to unrest in West Asia.
Minister Gopi urged the public to look at the situation proportionally, comparing local price increases with those worldwide. He declined to elaborate further on the issue when pressed by reporters.
