Drone Incident Raises Concerns at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Plant

The Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine reported to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Sunday that a drone had targeted its external radiation control laboratory.

Although there were no injuries, it is currently unknown if the drone strike caused any damage to the laboratory, located beyond the plant's perimeter, according to the IAEA.

Director General Rafael Grossi stated that an IAEA team at the site has requested access to the lab, stressing that any attacks in the vicinity of nuclear sites could pose safety risks.
