Bolivia's YPFB Launches New Drilling Ventures Amid Turmoil
Bolivia's state energy firm YPFB will initiate drilling two new wells in the Surubi-Mamore area this July. The venture targets the Yantata and Lower Petaca reservoirs. This development comes amid an ongoing investigation into alleged internal irregularities following the president's recent resignation.
Bolivia's state energy company, YPFB, announced plans to drill two new development wells in the Surubi-Mamore area, starting this July, amid ongoing internal challenges.
The wells, identified as Surubi Noroeste 6 (SRB NO-6) and Surubi Noroeste 9H (SRB NO-9h), aim to explore the Yantata and Lower Petaca reservoirs. Drilling for SRB NO-6 is set to commence in July, followed by SRB NO-9H.
This initiative unfolds against a backdrop of difficulties for YPFB. The company is currently under investigation for alleged irregularities in fuel purchases, only weeks after its president's resignation.
