A devastating missile and drone assault by Russia on Ukraine's Poltava and Kharkiv regions resulted in the deaths of five individuals and left thousands without gas supply, Ukrainian officials reported Tuesday.
The attack targeted key gas production facilities, causing substantial damage and loss, according to Serhiy Koretskyi, CEO of Ukraine's state energy company, Naftogaz. Among the deceased are three company employees and two State Emergency Service rescuers, while 37 others sustained injuries.
Ukraine's air force stated that 11 ballistic missiles and 164 drones were launched overnight. While many were intercepted, eight missiles and 14 drones struck their targets, devastating the central Poltava district and cutting off gas for approximately 3,500 customers.
