Escalation in Ukraine: Renewed Attacks Following Ceasefire Expiry
Following the end of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, Russian forces launched fresh attacks in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in at least six fatalities. In a swift return to conflict, Russian forces unleashed a barrage of attacks on Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region just after a ceasefire mediated by the U.S. expired. This resumption of hostilities has claimed at least six lives according to regional officials.
The assaults, which included over 200 drone attacks, notably targeted the central city of Kryvyi Rih, causing civilian casualties. Among the injured was a nine-month-old child, highlighting the toll on Ukrainian non-combatants.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced retaliatory measures, noting strikes on Russian gas facilities. Meanwhile, Ukrainian efforts are set to strengthen defensive technologies in collaboration with European allies.
