In a disconcerting event, a training aircraft crashed near the Baramati Airport in Pune district early Wednesday, as confirmed by Pune Rural Police. The incident occurred around 8:50 AM, according to a statement from Sandeep Singh Gill, SP of Pune Rural Police.
Preliminary eyewitness accounts suggest the aircraft experienced a technical snag when flying at a low altitude. During the attempted crash landing, it struck a light pole before crashing to the ground. Fortunately, the sole occupant, a trainee pilot, escaped without serious injuries, Gill stated.
Police responded promptly to the crash site, initiating an inquiry and subsequent actions. This incident has reignited concerns, recalling the fatal Learjet 45 crash earlier this year that resulted in the loss of all five onboard, including Ajit Pawar.
