Aaranyak's Hands-On Workshop Empowers Students in Water Conservation

Aaranyak, a leading biodiversity conservation organisation, conducted a hands-on water testing workshop at Krishnanagar Vidyapeeth High School to address the escalating global water crisis. In collaboration with the Assam Pollution Control Board, the event aimed to furnish students with crucial skills to monitor and conserve local water resources.

The initiative sought to heighten awareness of water scarcity, aligning with the UN's warnings about a 'Global Water Bankruptcy.' Students engaged in practical exercises, testing water samples for various parameters, effectively linking classroom learning with real-world environmental challenges.

Involving both teachers and students in water quality testing, the program emphasized Guwahati's water issues, from scarcity to flooding. The event spotlighted experiential learning, encouraging students to perform water audits and assess local attitudes towards water conservation, in support of Mission LiFE.
