Former Yes Bank MD and CEO Rana Kapoor finds himself embroiled in legal trouble as the Mumbai Police have filed an FIR accusing him of illegal activities involving mortgaged property. Along with Kapoor, other bank officials are under scrutiny for allegedly transferring assets without proper classification as Non-Performing Assets.

The FIR details claims by complainant Lakhminder Dayal Singh, who is associated with Saffair Land Development. Singh accuses the bank of transferring a loan of Rs 150 crore to an asset reconstruction company without citing necessary classifications, an allegation backed by a 2019 special audit report. This intricately ties into a larger financial web involving HDIL and its group companies.

The case has been registered at Worli police station, targeting Kapoor, Sudhir Walia, among others, under serious charges like criminal breach of trust and conspiracy. As the investigation unfolds, no arrests have been made yet, but authorities continue to probe the complexities of the case.
