A fire broke out in the outdoor unit of a split air-conditioner at a flat in east Delhi's GTB Enclave area on Wednesday afternoon, an official said.
A PCR call reporting a blast in an AC unit at a DDA flat in GTB Enclave was received at around 3.30 pm, he said.
A police team reached the spot and found that the fire had erupted in the outdoor unit of a split AC installed on the second floor of the flat, apparently due to excessive heat, a senior police officer said.
The house owner, identified as Kiran, and her five-year-old son were inside the flat when the incident occurred. Both were evacuated safely, police said.
Two fire tenders were pressed into service, and the blaze was brought under control. No injuries or major property damage were reported, officials said.
