Two senior officials from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited were suspended following allegations of irregularities in approvals of TNGECL.

The irregularities were detected during a series of review meetings chaired by state Energy Resources Minister R Nirmal Kumar, an official release here said.

V Kasi, Chief Financial Controller (Revenue), and P Chandrasekaran, Chief Engineer (Non-Conventional Energy), have been placed under temporary suspension.

The release further said that the pension benefits of S Mangalanathan, retired Director (Technical) of the Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited (TNGECL) have been temporarily withheld following alleged irregularities.

A formal departmental inquiry is currently being conducted against the concerned officials, and further action is being initiated in accordance with the regulations of the distribution corporation, the release added.
