Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday hit out at Shiv Sena MLC Bacchu Kadu and said he made a mistake of making him a minister in his cabinet.

Addressing party workers here, Thackeray, without naming Kadu, said, ''The one who left was an old Shiv Sainik. I made a mistake of calling him home and making him a minister. Let those who have abandoned due to greed go. The ones who fight are with me.''.

Kadu was a minister in the Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government. He was also among the MLAs who revolted against Thackeray in 2022 which ultimately led to the collapse of the government.

Kadu, who lost the 2024 assembly polls from Achalpur in Amravati district, was part of the undivided Shiv Sena before launching his own Prahar Janshakti Paksh.

He joined the Shiv Sena last month. The Eknath Shinde-led party declared Kadu as its candidate for the Maharashtra legislative council polls, which he won unopposed.
