Surat New Civil Hospital in Gujarat has marked a significant milestone in public healthcare with the launch of the state's first advanced Biplane Cath Lab, part of the Super Speciality Project, officials confirmed.
The Rs 12 crore facility offers complimentary cardiac, neurological, and vascular treatments, including procedures like angiography, angioplasty, and emergency stroke care that would typically cost up to Rs 50,000 in private hospitals.
Dr Dharitri Parmar, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, highlighted the lab's capability in swiftly diagnosing and treating strokes, offering free critical services previously inaccessible to many due to high costs. Meanwhile, Dr Hiren Rathod emphasized the machine's role in streamlining procedures such as minimally invasive interventions, which circumvent the need for open surgeries, thus diminishing patient recovery times and enhancing precision in treatment.
