Roz Ali, the central figure in the Nalbari attack, died Monday following a confrontation with police in the district's Mukalmua area. Officials reported that Ali was critically injured in an attempted police arrest and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The attack, which took place in Gangapur, resulted in the death of 19-year-old Madhurya Barman and left 18-year-old Mridumudra Deka critically wounded, now receiving treatment at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
SSP Bibekananda Das confirmed the police action, stating Ali was shot after he attacked officers during an arrest attempt. In response to the incident, widespread protests erupted, and BJP MLA Jayanta Malla Baruah visited the hospital, offering support to the injured's family. The investigation continues, with authorities under pressure to bring justice.
