Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) projects valued at over Rs 1,063 crore in South Gujarat. The projects, spanning Bharuch and Valsad districts, form a crucial segment of a broader Rs 18,777 crore development plan spearheaded by collaboration between the central and Gujarat governments from Surat.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, Modi will inaugurate six GIDC projects worth over Rs 894 crore in Bharuch and two projects worth Rs 169.3 crore in Valsad, designed to reinforce industrial infrastructure, effluent disposal, and drainage management systems. The statement emphasizes Gujarat's leadership in industrial growth, with Bharuch emerging as a pivotal hub for the chemical and petrochemical sectors. Among the developments, the Dahej PCPIR industrial cluster now houses a 90 MLD capacity offshore and onshore effluent disposal pipeline, constructed from Saykha Pumping Station to Dahej.
In addition, infrastructure enhancements in the Dahej PCPIR area target chemical, textile, and pharma industries, with over 1,000 units currently operational. Key improvements include road networks and drainage systems in Jambusar's Bulk Drug Park in Bharuch. The Prime Minister will also open a drainage pumping station in Dahej-2 Industrial Estate and other projects in Ankleshwar and Sarigam, aimed at bolstering effluent management and environmental compliance.
