West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari marked the inauguration of a new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Bhawanipur's Ward No. 71 on Wednesday, signaling a blend of political strategy and cultural homage.

Earlier, Adhikari offered prayers at the historical Taraknath Temple in Tarakeswar, Hooghly district, where he underscored plans to enhance the temple's development and preserve its rich heritage. Although the visit coincided with administrative duties, Adhikari emphasized the spiritual essence of the temple, invoking the revered Baba Mahadev.

Reflecting on Tarakeswar's storied past, he recalled the pivotal 1946 resolution led by Syama Prasad Mookerjee that ensured Bengal's retention within India. Upcoming commemorations on June 20th, marking Statehood Day, will honor this legacy alongside the 125th anniversary of Mookerjee's birth. Concurrently, Adhikari announced the launch of the Annapurna scheme's initial direct cash transfers, asserting the state's resolve against system infiltrators.
