On Monday, Maharashtra reported 34 new COVID-19 cases alongside one fatality, as confirmed by the health department. This brings the total cases for the year to 2041, with the death toll rising to 29, including individuals with preexisting conditions.
The state currently has 512 active COVID-19 cases. A 44-year-old woman from the metropolis died, suffering from chronic liver cirrhosis, deemed a comorbidity by officials. New infections were primarily recorded in Mumbai, Pune, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Since January 1, Maharashtra has conducted a total of 21,951 COVID-19 tests, according to the health department.
