Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled ambitious plans to enhance AYUSH education by establishing colleges in six state divisions currently lacking such institutions. This announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the state's first AYUSH university in Gorakhpur, inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu.

The Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University, constructed at a cost of ₹268 crore, aims to serve as a hub for education and research in traditional medicine fields such as Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, and Yoga. "This institution will not only provide healthcare benefits but also create employment opportunities," stated Adityanath.

The Chief Minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for elevating India's ancient medical practices on a global stage by instituting the Ministry of AYUSH. He also emphasized the government's commitment to holistic health by detailing plans for wellness centers with at least 100 beds in every district.
