Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked Doctors' Day by engaging with the city's medical professionals, lauding their critical role in nation-building and highlighting the government's plans to transform the capital into a premier medical hub.
Addressing a gathering at the Delhi Secretariat, Gupta praised doctors as "messengers of God" for their service, particularly during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, and urged their cooperation in healthcare reforms. She expressed the aspiration for Delhi to become the first choice for quality treatment, similar to Kota's educational prominence.
The chief minister announced ambitious goals, including increasing government hospital beds from 0.42 to three per 1,000 people in five years, establishing a medical university, and enhancing infrastructure. She also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, aiming for a "Viksit Delhi" with premier healthcare and education.
